Hungary’s new anti-corruption authority is up and running
Hungary’s Integrity Authority is up and running and reviewing reports it has received so far, the authority said on Wednesday.
Its board of directors held their inaugural meeting on 18 November and, “meeting strict legal deadlines”, it has begun its professional work, the authority said in a statement. The next task is to quickly hire staff “who can carry out their work to the highest professional standards,” it added.
Any information submitted to the authority in the public interest may be made in writing or electronically, it said. The authority’s anti-corruption working group will be set up by 1 December, and will hold its first meeting by 15 December at the latest, the statement said.
An open application process applies for selecting members of the working group representing non-governmental actors dedicated to rooting out corruption, with the deadline of midnight, 24 November.

Interesting and a coincidence perhaps….. Brussels makes its decision today on whether Hungary will receive €7.5 billion. Might be a case of too little too late for the Viktator as it’s not looking too favourable. Such a travesty that one man and his corruption has done this to our country. If we are denied the money it’s not fault of the Left, it’s not the fault of the Brussels bureaucrats, it’s not the fault of Soros and his lapdogs and all the other invisible enemies this government loves to blame. It’s down to the regime of an authoritarian that is slowing destroying this country. Of course the state controlled media will tell another story……….
Knowing how well Hungary’s Prime Minister and FIDESZ have learned to circumvent democratic reforms over the past 12 years, I am not at all hesitant to say that the IA is nothing more than a SHAM.
Having said that I’d love to know what OLAF and EPPO members think about Hungary’s IA, I mean REALLY think, not what is made public.
